Cork - Corcaigh

Famous for being the second largest city in Ireland and the second largest natural harbour in the world

The Irish name comes from the word 'swamp' and the city itself has a reputation for rebellion, which comes from the years of the War of Roses, when the Corkonians supported the English Pretender in 1491. The River Lee flows through the city and the city centre is built on an island created when the river splits into two channels. The town itself is quite vibrant, with pretty buildings and well-kept streets. But the pubs are much better in England!
