Freaky or what

My lovely statistics counting provider has just notified me that they increased my log size but I have to login to take advantage of this generous offer. While there I couldn’t resist looking at the stats (that’s what they’re for, right?) and drilling down to the results to see how different people get to my website. This one takes the cake because they found me (patience is a virtue - they clicked through 9 pages of Google results!) and because the first link on Google when I repeated their query was this one.

It’s a Polish children’s book and here’s the blurb translated:

Is a diary written by a non-princess as interesting as a real princess’ diary? This question is of great importance to Agnieszka Sosna, who at a first glance is just a girl next door but who writes about the important events in her life and wants to be a writer when she grows up. Agnieszka has an open mind, is full of energy and “completely crazy” - literally and also about Maks, her older brother’s friend. So it’s no surprise that she’s constantly in trouble and her writing is full of life and humour.

Letting the genie out of the bottle

OK, so most of you know anyway but I haven’t been blogging about it. Now, that we have less than 3 months left I think it’s time to make it public:
we are going to live in Canada for 12 months!

The plan is to go to Vancouver, set up some job interviews and spend a few weeks sightseeing. Come back for the interviews, nail them and get a job, work for some time and wait for winter. In winter go snowboarding. Then go snowboarding some more. Then go to Alaska. Go to the US. Go to Cuba. Go to Mexico. Go to the Carribean. See lots of Canada, visit Jo, Chris, Mo and Seamus in Montreal. Learn French. Have fun.

That’s the plan. We’ll see how much of it we actually achieve but the main goal is to have a break from corporate lifestyle, mortgages and being responsible adults. We are not going to be working to earn lots of cash. We are not going to be working long hours. We are not going to be living in a flash apartment that costs tonnes of money every week. Unless we find a flash apartment that doesn’t cost tonnes of money - then we’ll live in it!
