Spring is in the air

We celebrated last weekend with mountain biking trip to Woodhill Forest, where Lukas’ bike finally fell apart on the first uphill. So we had to turn back to base and hire a bike for him. My bike (it actually belongs to my little brother Kris) held up really well, I think it much prefers riding in the forest than on the street. I do too. I almost forgot how much fun riding in the forest is!

This weekend we’re planning to paint our lounge on Saturday (this time we did all the preparations during the week, so it does look like we might be able to start and finish on Saturday) and hopefully Sunday will see us in Woodhill again.

By the way, they changed the Mountain Bike Park HQ - moved it right across from the Tree Adventures Park, which saves a couple of kms driving on the gravel and refurbished it so they now even have a clothes shop there.

Looong weekend

It’s but a memory now but last weekend we managed to get away from it all and spent 4 days in the Central Plateau. The goal was of course to get as much snowboarding done as possible in those 4 days but it turned out slightly differently - maybe even better. Usually we don’t get to do much sightseeing around the mountain as we spend all the time up ON the mountain, enjoying the white stuff. The forecast was as usual this year so just “in case” we took our bikes and hiking boots with us.

The bikes got used on Saturday - did a couple of hours around Ohakune, watching spring lambs, goats and piglets. And I forgot to take my camera with us.

The boots we used on Sunday - went to see
Te Porere Redoubt
Te Porere
Mountains
Manuka

Mahuia Rapids on the Whakapapanui Stream
Mahuia Rapids

and Ohinetonga Walk in Owhango
Board walk
Lagoon
Pumice

then on Monday and Tuesday we finally managed to get some turns (and jumps)

For life

In short: we’ve decided to commit ourselves to snowboarding on Mt Ruapehu for life. As an early (and probably only) wedding present to each other, Mt Ruapehu Life Passes have been purchased over the weekend!

3 miesiące!

Teraz już z górki! Mieliśmy “studniówkę” 25. sierpnia, a teraz już zostały tylko 3 miesiące!
W ostatnim miesiącu zdołaliśmy:

  • wykonać zaproszenia
  • rozesłać prawie wszystkie i rozdać resztę - zostało nam jeszcze kilka
  • odebrać Agi sukienkę, która doszła miesiąc spóźniona!
  • zdecydować o przesunięciu podróży poślubnej do przyszłego roku

Poza tym NIE udało się nam dojechać na górę ani razu, ale dzięki temu udało się nam skończyć kafelkowanie kuchni i pralni.

3 months

3 months to day W!
In the last month we have:

  • finished making the invitations
  • sent out almost all and given out the rest
  • bought the decorations
  • picked up Aggie’s dress, which has arrived a month late!
  • decided on not having a honeymoon right after the wedding

In addition, we have also NOT gone down to the mountain and managed to lay tiles in the kitchen and laundry.
